What’s been happening:

I have the pleasure of still being connected to PSU in several different ways. My younger brother David lives in State College and owns a Boar's Head meat business from there; his family loves Happy Valley and he gives me a very good reason to come visit there as often as possible! I also still have professional connection to PSU and the Food Science Department and in Fall 2009 my business, Food Ingredient Technologies, will be funding an endowment scholarship in the name of Dr. William H. Knightly. Bill was a 1951 graduate of PSU and he was one of the leading pioneers in the field of food emulsifiers, and he owned a company called Emulsion Technology up until his passing in 2004. After his untimely death, I worked with his family to continue the company and to further develop the business for his Encap emuslfiers. Today, it is a very successful company and Bill's legacy lives on. The endowment scholarship is one way in which we will celebrate his illustrious career and technical legacy. Each Fall, Bill's son and I will get to attend the annual banquet and hand out a check to a worthy Food Science student. If we're lucky, we will get to see a football game while we are there too and have an ice cream cone from the beautiful new Creamery (of which both our names are already on the wall there too!!).
